I was just killing time on a Wednesday afternoon, figured I'd spin the reels for maybe twenty minutes before heading to work. My hands were shaking when those symbols lined up—I honestly thought the machine was broken at first. I kept hitting the button to see if it was real, and my coworker came over and was like 'dude, you need to call someone.' Now I'm paying off my truck and finally taking my kids to Disney World this summer like I promised them three years ago.

I was having the worst month at work—got passed over for a promotion I really deserved. Decided to take a Friday night for myself, sat down at the blackjack table feeling sorry for myself. The dealer kept busting, I kept doubling down, and somehow I went from $200 to nearly ninety grand. I remember my voice cracking when I cashed out. Used some of it to finally fix up my garage like I've been planning, and the rest is going into my retirement fund where it belongs.

I've been playing poker seriously for about six years, traveling to tournaments on weekends while working my regular job. This was the biggest tournament I'd entered, and I was nervous the whole first day—barely slept that night. Made it to the final table with mostly experienced players, and I played the tightest poker of my life. When I won that last hand, I actualy cried a little sitting there. I'm quitting my job next month and going pro finally doing what I've always wanted to do.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, just having fun, not expecting anything. I put money on 23 red because that's our daughter's birthday, and honestly I was just being sentimental and silly about it. When the ball landed there, I screamed so loud the whole table turned to look at us. My husband picked me up and spun me around like we were back in our twenties. We're using it to finally renovate our kitchen—something we've talked about for a decade.

I was at the slots with my sister visiting from out of state, just pushing buttons and chatting. I wasn't even paying close attention when the buffalo symbol hit big—my sister noticed before I did. The machine was lighting up and I was standing there in complete disbelief. Called my wife right then and there and told her I was taking her to that restaurant she always wanted to try. Best part is I still have enough left over to build that shed in the backyard I've been talking about forever.

I stopped by for maybe an hour after my shift ended, figured I'd play a couple hands and head home. Started getting these incredible cards—straights, flushes, everything was hitting. My buddy who works at the bar was keeping tabs on me, kept bringing me drinks and saying 'dude, you're on fire.' Cashed out and sat in my truck for like ten minutes just staring at the chips. That money is going straight to my mom's medical bills—she's been worried sick about the costs, and now she can actually relax about it.
